Violent clashes between Sikh groups in Golden Temple

The police had to come to prevent the clash between the Sikh groups in the Golden Temple complex on Thursday. This clash took place in the premises where ‘Harmandar Sahib’ situated. A Task Force, led by Jauhar Sinbgh, chairman of the management committee of Chhota Ghalludhara Gurdwara, located in Kadian (in Gurdaspur district), tried to prevent the entry of the premises and moving towards the Akal Takht. The Akal Takht is the highest posture of Sikhism.

Due to alleged involvement in unethical activities of a member of Gurudwara Management, Jawbahar Singh called by ‘Samantar jathedars‘ to clarify his stand regarding the clashes in Kadian Gurdwara in August.

The skirmish took place when the oral fight started between the supporters of Samantar jathedars and members of the SGPC Task Force. Both groups fought with swords, sticks and other conventional weapons, after which the police had to intervene.
