India has started a bang in the 10th Asia Cup hockey tournament. On the sixth place in the world rankings, the Indian team defeated the 17th ranked Japanese India beat Japan 5-1.

For India Harmanpreet Singh scored 2, SV Sbunil, Lalit Upabdhyay and Ramandeep Singh 1-1 goals. On the other hand, Kenji Kitajto scored the only goal for Japan. India’s next match will be held on October 13 from hosts Bangladesh.

The Indian team took the lead in the third minute of the game, when Sunil opened the account of the goal. Within a minute, Kitajto scored a similar goal to equip Japan. In the 22nd minute, Lalit gave India a 2-1 lead. In the second quarter, the two teams made a strong attack. During this time India also got a penalty corner. India’s lead continued till half time.

In the third quarter, Ramandeep scored the goal in the 32nd minute to make India a 3-1 lead. Three minutes later, Harmanpreet Singh converted the penalty corner into the score and scored 4-1. In the last quarter, Harmanpreet Singh converted one more penalty corner in the 48th minute to goal and made India 5-1 ahead, which was decisive.
